Gets Support From AAA on Child Safety Seat Legislation (S1594)
We have found a strong ally in AAA on this issue. In meeting with
them concerning the child safety seat legislation, we arrived at a
tentative compromise that protects operators against suits while
maintaining passenger safety. AAA is also willing to become a
Vendor Member of LANJ, and plans to do a write up on our industry
in their magazine.
We are looking forward to meeting with Senator John A.
Girgenti, chairman of the committee of jurisdiction and co-prime
on the legislation, to discuss strategy regarding the proposed
legislation.
In light of the fact that the bill passed the state assembly
with a vote of 66-2, we a strong likelihood of the corresponding bill
quickly passing the senate and the legislation being signed into
law by the Governor. This legislation puts the responsibility of providing
and installing a child safety seat, as well as placing the child
into the seat, squarely on the shoulders of the parent, guardian
or responsible adult. The responsible adult will have to sign a
waiver/letter developed by the Department of Transportation. NJ
operators must inform riders of NJ's law, which requires passengers
o80lbs. or less or 8 years old or younger to use the seat belt.

NJ Enacts Limousine Law:
All County Limousine joins other
limo companies in NJ to enact laws affecting the limousine industry:
The limousine industry has scored
a major victory in NJ.
Governor Christie Whitman has signed landmark
legislation setting limousine industry standards that will officially
took effect on April 13,2003. The law requires operators to
maintain a minimum of $1.5 million in liability insurance coverage. Additionally,
the legislation addresses the issue of intrastate travel without
requiring additional permits or licenses, establishes rules for
interstate travel by vehicles from other states, and establishes a
State Limousine Advisory Committee to the Department of
Transportation. On March 1,2001, a new Limousine plate will replace
the old livery plates used for limousine vehicles in NJ. We believe
not only will this law ensure the riding public that they are being
driven in safe vehicles, it will also protect the legitimate
operator from gypsy companies operating in NJ.
All
County Limousine helps children with cancer
Denville, NJ: All County Limousine continues to provide free
transportation to needy children as part of the Rotary's Gift of Life
program. This noble endeavor brings children from around the world to
receive life-saving heart operations in the United States free of
charge.
Last July,
Aref Assaf , President of All County Limousine, hosted a 10-month
old infant from Palestine who was operated on at the New York
University Hospital in NYC. We provided transportation, home-stays-
and financial donations to ensure the child receives the
proper treatment.
We also take pride in being a member of the
Corporate Angel Network,
CAN,
which provides assistance to cancer stricken children in the United States
to travel on corporate jets free of charge while undergoing treatment. All
County limousine provides ground transportation to these children
also free of charge. This service to the community is one way All
County Limousine joins other like-minded entities in helping
our community.

All
County Limousine installs GPS-based vehicle tracking system
January : To ensure maximum
safety of our clients and drivers, and to increase our dispatching
accuracy, we have teamed up with ATT wireless and @atroad to
install GPS- internet based vehicle tracking system in our cars,
enabling us 24 hour communication with our drivers.
February: All County Limousine joins
the National Limousine Association in supporting A resolution being
circulated in Congress(HR-1689) to bar cities like NYC from impeding the
interstate commerce nature of the limousine industry. We believe
that a fully licensed limousine service in one state should be able
to transport its clients to other states. The city of New York
demands that all limousines companies must be licensed in NYC
even thought the company is based outside of NYC. Many customers
have been forced out of their cars once they were stopped by NYC
police and "discovered" that they were not licensed in
NYC. We urge our clients, especially corporate ones, to contact
their elected representatives to urge them to oppose NYC's actions.
